British Wheel of Yoga Teacher Training Module - Yoga for
People Living with Cancer - with Julie Friedeberger
19-20 March, 14-15 May,
and 9-10 July 2011
Each year, around 290,000 people in the UK discover that
they have developed cancer. Some of them will turn to
yoga for help and support in dealing with the trauma of
diagnosis and treatment, and in their healing process.
Why do people with cancer come to yoga, and what are their
expectations of it? How can yoga help them? Can yoga do
them any harm? What practices can we safely teach, and
what ought we to avoid? This
course is intended to help yoga teachers develop the confidence,
knowledge, insight and professional skills that are needed
in order to work with people who are dealing with the
challenging experience of a life-changing illness. Read
