Yorkshire Yoga is a Registered Charity (No. 1124347) dedicated to providing therapeutic yoga benefits to people of all ages and abilities and all income groups.

EXPANSION OF OUR FACILITIES IS NOW COMPLETE

Although the building extension was completed in May 2011, it has taken us several more months to finish all of the internal renovations. We are now settling in well to our newly-refurbished premises.

   

We have also erected a fencing compound to house our new 16-seater Mercedes Sprinter minibus which arrived mid-September.

 
 
We would like to thank all our funding partners, SEIF (the Department of Health's Social Enterprise Investment Fund), Knaresborough Relief in Need and, in particular, WREN - Waste Recycling Environmental. WREN was the first partner-funder to pledge money and without that we would not have been able to recruit the other funders.

GENERAL AREAS

   

Our entire building has been refurbished to a high standard and all parts are accessible to people with mobility difficulties thanks to our new lift. The refurbishment includes the provision of a fully-equipped disabled toilet with hoist and disabilities-friendly shower, an expanded meeting room which can now be used as a second studio, new reception and office area and a brand new fitness and treatment room.

TREATMENT AND FITNESS ROOM

In order to install the new lift, an extension had to be built over the single-storey. The brand new room on the first floor now boasts state-of-the-art exercise and therapy equipment and has an X-Y ceiling hoist that can transport a wheelchair user to the tilt table or the massage table.  The new treatment and fitness room is adjacent to the lift, the waiting area and the disabled toilet/shower facilities.

WREN has also funded two new ceiling hoists in the main studio which, along with our mobile hoist, allows us to hoist three people at the same time so that our Able & Enabled class is now much more efficient.
