Laura
Bissell - Founding Director, BWY DCT
Laura has been
practising Yoga for over 30 years, firstly in America and
since 1988 in Britain. During the Yoga for Health Foundation’s
Teacher Training course at Ickwell Bury in 1994/95, Laura
was impressed by the real commitment there to offer ‘yoga
for all’ and the seed was planted to open a regional
centre in the north for the whole community. Laura
refined her teaching skills with the British Wheel of Yoga's
3-year diploma course; she is now a BWY Teacher Training Diploma
Course Tutor. Laura has completed 3 BWY advanced post-diploma
modules: 1) Pranayama based on the system of Swami Gitananda,
2) Yoga for Pregnancy and 3) Ayurveda. She is a Remedial Yoga
Therapist, having done advanced training for physical disabilities
at the Yoga for Health Foundation, plus YOU & ME training
with its emphasis on learning disabilities. Further 'specialty'
training has been completed: Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga from Union
Yoga, Baby Yoga & Massage from Francoise Freedman's Birthlight
programme and Modern Pilates, a course developed by Physiotherapist
Christopher Norris, author of "Back Stability" and
"Abdominal Training, Enhancing Core Stability".

Jane
Lewis - BWY
Hatha Yoga Teacher
Jane Lewis is a British Wheel
of Yoga (BWY) Teacher and has been teaching hatha yoga for
over 13 years. She is the previous Chairman of the West Yorkshire
Yoga Federation and served for many years as the regional
editor of the British Wheel of Yoga magazine Wheels Within.
Her wide-ranging interests in the spiritual, esoteric and
philosophical aspects of yoga are gently woven into her own
practice of hatha yoga and teaching style. Her approach to
teaching is to bring together Mind Body and Spirit through
the limbs of yoga, including postures, breathing/ pranayama,
relaxation and meditation. She places particular importance
on positive thinking, creative visualization and exploring
the symbolic language of yoga postures as a means of personal
development and growth. |

Robert
Goldsbrough - Sun Power Yoga Teacher (BWY Dip, Advanced Sun
Power Yoga dip)
Robert was a professional actor and singer for
12 years. He has been interested in hatha yoga for over ten
years, focussing primarily on Ashtanga. He has trained with
Ann-Marie Newland of Sun Power Yoga, qualifying in a combination
of Iyengar, Sivananda and Ashtanga traditions, and he has done
further study with David Swenson and Vera Oates. Robert's style
-- informed by the niyama 'tapas' -- relies on discipline, heat
and intense purification, making him ideally suited to teach
both Ashtanga and Hot Yoga. For the latter, Robert has been
influenced by the two foremost disciples of Bhisnu Ghosh --
